Are you victim of Darth Vader Syndrome? I am sure, you are thinking, “What is Michael talking about?” I just came up with new name Darth Vader Syndrome. It is because Darth Vader is the man with full of anger and bitterness. Darth Vader was once a man known as Anakin Skywalker whom was truly gifted person where he posses awesome talent as pilot and engineer and even he posses the gift of knowing something before they would happens. He became Jedi Knight under the Jedi Master Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi. Anakin sense he is learning things very fast as Jedi Knight and wanted to advance in level of Jedi journey quickly at same time he was struggling with his own conflict in his personal issues where something is missing from his life which has ascended him into anger and bitterness. It caused whole conflict between Jedi Master Obi-Wan and him. Anakin’s anger and bitterness has breed himself into dark side, which brought to birth of Darth Vader.
Being in recovery journey is not an express lane or overnight journey. It is truly long-term journey where we are to learn to examine our own withered soul. For instance, during my inner healing journey, I re-discovered the world of photography and also saw myself as motivated writer. At same time, I continue to work on my inner healing where I learned to be healed and completely freed from being in prison of anger and bitterness. I can have very healthy lifestyle.
During inner healing journey is not always a joyful and easy adventure. It can be filled with anger, struggles, confusion and frustration. So what to do with it? We need to learn to work on it and examine on the root of origins of where it came from where it will truly bring us into life of joy and happiness later on. It is why James mentioned in book of James:
“My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need.”~ James 1:2-4 (NLT)
The hardship in your life help you grow up into better person where it will reflects the heart of showing grace, compassion and unconditional love that reflects the true character of God. It will bring you into healthy friendships and relationships with people.
I had fruitful conversation with few people concerning inner healing journey, I recall quote I learned for myself as I shared with others:
“If you never go through dark period then you are not truly growing up into being better person filled with joy and happiness. Plus you will never discover the true identity of who you are in presence of God. So therefore walking into dark period will bring you closer to God than before where God will heals your wounded heart.”
It is why King David mentioned in Psalm 23:4 (NLT):
“Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me.”
It shows King David knew he would go through dark time in future and he put his whole trust and faith in God to be with Him when he is dealing with heartbroken.
So do you want to be victim of Darth Vader Syndrome or do you want to live in life filled with joy and happiness in presence of God? It is something for you to think about.
